Surah 'Abasa (He frowned)

  • 14. marfu'a = they are elevated
    mutahharah= they are purified
  • 15. "It is at the disposal of / in the hands of As-safarah"
    sifr= a book that unveils things
    safarah= scribes
  • 16. "They are entirely noble/righteous multitudes of extremely good people"
========= matter of the human being =====
  • 17. "May the human being be killed, May the human be destroyed
    Human being has destroyed himself,
    how incredible/awesome/amazing his disbelief/kufr/capacity of disbelief
    what made/led him to disbelieve in this way"
  • 18. "What exactly does he think he was made out of"
    From what material was he created
  • 19. "From a dirty/filthy fluid, he created him , then calculated entire legacy"
    taqdeer= means to make a projection based on extremely precise calculation(tall, color of skin, short, language, life, food, disease, family, job, business)
  • 20. "It is especially in that path/sabil that Allah faciliated for human being. He made it easy for him. "
    --> the passage of the child coming out of his the womb of the mother
    --> the path to guidance.
    He made it easy
  • 21. "Then He caused him to die, then He made sure he ends up into the grave"
    qabar= means to be entered in the grave
  • 22. "Thereafter, whenever He wants, He will raise him immediately back up"
    nashara= means to spread
  • 23. "No. Not at all. Its certainly true. He has not done yet done justice/ fulfilled what Allah commanded him"
    qaza= means to do a responsibility and do it in a way that you are no longer responsible, job is done. 
  • 24. "Then, let the human being look carefully and stare/ovserve at his food"
    ta'am= food more particularly for human being
  • 25. "We poured water down abundantly"
    sab= literally means taking a bucket and pour over something
    Allah pours heavy heavy heavy rain
    water upon water
  • 26. "Then, He cuts the earth open"
    shaq= means to cut/rip open things that are not expected to cut
  • 27. "We sprouted in it, and we allowed growth of grain"
    hab= grain
    inbaat= ensure growth of something maticulously
  • 28. Inab= grapes
    qazb= all kinds of vegetation (carrots, cocumbers... mostly vegetation grow under the earth)
  • 29. zaitoon= olives
    naql= dates
  • 30. " Gardens in which the trees barks are thick and branches are intertwined"
    hadaiq= well guarded gardens (lush gardens)
    gulb/aglab= thick branches are intertwined
  • 31. faakiha= means delicious food
    fakiha= overjoyed
    fakiheen= people of jannah
    ab= grass/pastures
  • 32. "It is a provision/things to use for you and also for your cattle"

  • 33. "When that scream comes"
    As-saaqah= deafening loud sound/scream
  • 34. "The day on which human being will run in terror away from his own brother"
    firat/farra: when you run away from something that terrifies you
    the scenarion is flipped
    why? family stay in contact with each other more... and people violate each others rights the most in the family
    and they may ask some of his deeds
  • 35. "mother, father"
  • 36. "wife, children"
  • 37. " For every last person, from every one of them
    on that day, there will be a sha'n. Yugni
    on that day, every single person will be involved in an important task. "
    mar'u/ imru/ muruha= chivalry, selflessness, dignified, noble
    sha'n= an issue/matter/affair which is very important for you
    yugnihi= something so important that makes you forget everything else. everything else will become unimportant
  • 38. "Some faces especially on that day , they will be lit up as though a smile was hiding inside a veil and it has been unveiled"
    safar= large books, travel
    safeer= embassador 
  • 39. laughing , happiness of good news
    zahika= teeth show and noise in your laughter
    istibshar= full of delight/happiness because of a good news that comes to you
  • 40. "And some other faces on that day they will have gabarah on them"
    gabarah= dust lying around and hard to wash off
  • 41. "Black smoke will climb/force itself on top of them"
    "qatara will climb over their faces"
    rahaq= forcefully overshadowing/climb
    qatara= black smoke coming out of burnig food/fire
  • 42. "Those infact are the ones that are the worst kind of deniars/disbelievers.
    fajara= the ones who disobey Allah in worst/most violent kind of fashion
    fujur= means tears through
    fujur literally means to rip open




Self evaluation

Here are few questions with the help of which we can assess ourself towards understanding the above surah. 
Q1) All human beings made a covenant with Allah(swt) before they came on this earth. What is that?
A1) that Allah(awj) is our lord.
Q2) Allah puts the arrogance of human being down in two different ways. In Surah Naziat Allah puts the human being in place by comparing us to the skies. In Surah Abasa as a
contrast, how does Allah put the human being in place? (Ayah 19)
A2) by reminding us where we came from. how we were created from a dirty fluid.
